This policy covers www.startupcommunity.co.uk, website for the Business Startup Community and Network.
Data Protection Registration:
Business Startup Community, Business Startup Exhibitions and Business Startup Overseas are part of Prysm Group and is registered with the Data Protection Registrar Number 123456 and complies with all UK data protection legislation
Access to the Public:
Most the area’s on the Business Startup Community website are open to the public so it is recommended that you do not post any personal information in the web logs or forums such as you name and contact details.
Links:
There are links on the Business Startup Community website to third party websites. Prysm Group has no control over these and accepts no responsibility for any third party practices on third party websites.
Membership:
When you join Business Startup Community as a Member, the details you provide on the Registration Form, will be used solely for purpose of providing you with information about news and events provided by Prysm Group or one of its partners; and to keep you involved as a Community Member either by email or telephone.
Registration Form:
To join as a Member to Business Startup Community, you are required to complete an online Registration Form. If you do not wish to be informed about news and events provided by Prysm Group or one of its partners, you will need to uncheck the box, asking you if you wish to receive newsletters and information from partners. Therefore you will be opting out.
What about personal data?
The Data Protection Act 1998 and the European Privacy Regulations: Prysm Events comply with the above and comply with the principles of good practice:
- fairly and lawfully processed
- processed for limited purposes
- adequate, relevant and not excessive
- accurate
- not kept longer than necessary
- processed in accordance with the data subject's rights
- secure
- not transferred to countries without adequate protection.
Data Storage:
All data is stored in a data centre on a secure server managed by our Technical Director
Data Sharing:
Data is only shared with agreed Partners who offer products of value to Members. There is always an opt out option with all Partner communication, as well as being able to opt out upon joining as a new Member.
Communications
Members will receive a newsletter approximate once a week and approximately 1 – 2 other informational emails or advertorial emails from the Business Startup Community or it’s partners. If Members have opted in to receive emails from Network Members, then they will receive no more than 3 Network emails per week.
Opting out and unsubscribing:
All emails sent to members has a link to opt out or unsubscribe, usually at the top of each email. This is present in newsletters, advertorials and Network emails. The process is carried out every 7 days.
Username and Password:
During the Registration process, you are asked to provide a personal username and password when you join as a Member. You should never reveal your password to anyone else. Once Registration is complete you will be sent an email to confirm your personal username and password.
Network Members ONLY:
Payment:
Membership to Business Startup Community Network is payable by subscription using the safe and secure payment system by PayPal. All Membership accounts are password protected.
Cancellation:
Business Startup Community Members are entitled to cancel their Network Membership at any time by unsubscribing. Business Startup Community reserve the right to contact Members who have cancelled their Network Membership in order to carryout a Customer Cancellation Review.
