Dr Nighat Awan OBE – Patron of the Business Startup Community

Welcome to the Business Startup Community! I have known the struggle and challenge of
starting and running your own business, and truly believe that with the aid and support of the Community – and the regional networking Clubs – you have a better chance of survival and indeed of making your business a huge success.

Since starting my first business at the age of 18 I have experienced the highs of business
success and the lows of serious illness. It was while in hospital for a long period that I first
realised that when you achieve success – however great or small – it is your duty to put
something back into the community, and since then I have strived to contribute to the
wellbeing and success of others.
