„The Wall Street Fix" examines the
dubious activities of US telecoms giant
Worldcom against a backdrop of what a
US prosecutor termed the "inherently
corrupt business practices" of Wall Street
which eventually cost small investors
trillions of dollars. A conspiracy of super
banks (notably Citicorp) and Wall Street
brokers, in league with Evers, artificially
valued Worldcom stocks far above their
real value leading to a frenzy of buying,
inevitably followed by a spectacular
crash.
While the banks were fined millions of
dollars - a drop in the ocean for them -
the real victims were ordinary US
investors who were cleaned out. For
many observers however Bernie Evers
was a convenient and high profile
scapegoat while the real problem lay with
the dozens of unscrupulous Wall Street
brokers who escaped punishment.

The entertaining and wacky "Woodstock
for Capitalists" takes an irreverent look
at the annual shareholder's bash of
investment firm Berkshire Hathaway,
starring the unassuming philosopher-
owner Warren Buffet (worth a cool $30
billion) and the 15,000 adoring
shareholder "fans" who flock to the venue
to see their guru. This bizarre billionaire's
convention takes place in the unlikely
setting of Omaha, Nebraska, a
comparative financial backwater but
home to Buffet's headquarters and many
of his most ardent supporters.
We are also given some surprising
revelations into Buffet's modest lifestyle
in Omaha and how he has successfully
cultivated his image as a mentor and
protector of his legions of fans.
